In addition, applicants must have successfully completed at least the following STEM bachelor`s degree programs: one year in Biology, one year in General Chemistry, one year in Organic Chemistry, one year in Calculus, one year in Physics, one semester in Biochemistry, one semester in Physical Chemistry, and one semester in Statistics. Students may be admitted conditionally, but must complete the required courses in the first year of the program. Students who have deficiencies in multiple courses should contact the program director, Mechthild Prinz (mprinz@jjay.cuny.edu or 212.621.3751), to discuss the possibility of taking courses as a non-graduate or second-degree student. The typical admitted student has a GPA of 3.0 or higher, a combined GRE score of 297 or higher (147+ quantitative reasoning; 150+ verbal reasoning), and a score of 3.0 or higher in the analytical writing section. GRE scores are only one component of the application profile. The admissions committee reviews the applicant`s qualifications for graduate completion holistically. In addition, applicants must have successfully completed at least the following bachelor`s degree achievements: 24 credit hours in social sciences (including 12 in psychology) as well as experimental psychology and statistical methods. Applicants who meet the admission requirements, with the exception of courses in statistics and experimental psychology, may be admitted conditionally, but must complete the required courses within the first semester of the program. Admission requires computer science training with the ability to succeed in computer science, criminal justice, and law courses. Computer science or related majors are preferred; However, the minimum training required in computer science includes the following undergraduate courses: two programming courses and courses in data structures, algorithms, operating systems, computer networks, and discrete mathematics. Factors favouring admission include a GPA of 3.0 or higher, verbal and mathematical GRE scores above the median, a GRE analysis score of 4.0 or higher, and relevant work experience.

All applicants must submit a CV. Applicants with an advanced college or professional diploma from an English language program are recommended, but do not need to submit a GRE. Interested candidates who do not have some or all of the required computer science courses can be admitted to CSIBridge, our computer science preparation program for digital forensics, leading to a seamless transition to the degree program. A grade point average of 3.0 or higher („B”) is required. An applicant who meets the admission requirements, with the exception of the statistics course, may be accepted provided that this bachelor`s degree requirement is completed during the first year of the program. If you are applying for the Master of Arts in Criminal Justice, please note that the admissions committee for this program is looking for students whose undergraduate transcription record and writing skills indicate that they are likely to succeed in graduate school. While the committee understands that a variety of factors can affect undergraduate grades, candidates with a GPA below 3.0 are rarely accepted. However, candidates whose average scores exceed this average should not assume that they will be automatically admitted. Admission to the program is based on the following criteria: a bachelor`s degree with a minimum average of 3.0 or higher; a degree in psychology, social work or counselling; a personal statement in support of the applicant`s application for admission to the certificate program; and corresponding letters of recommendation.

Prior to the start of each semester, the college offers a limited number of places to transfer students who wish to apply directly to the college (depending on space availability). Students must meet all requirements for transferred students, but may submit the application, fees, and official documents to the admissions office. Information on the availability of direct admission places can be obtained from the Admissions Office at 212.237.8873 or by email at admissions@jjay.cuny.edu. CUNY will revise its testing policy to provide optional testing from fall 2023 to spring 2025. First-year applicants may choose to submit SAT or ACT exam scores as part of their application. The admission decision is primarily based on a student`s academic preparation for high school, including the overall grade point average, course grades, and the academic rigor of their high school program. Students should carefully consider whether they want to submit their test results: a grade point average of at least 3.0 or higher is expected. Applicants with a GPA below 3.0 may be invited by the admissions committee to submit GRE scores with their applications. In addition, applicants must have completed 18 credits of a bachelor`s degree in social sciences. The Graduate Admissions Committee is looking for students whose writing skills and undergraduate transcripts indicate that they are likely to succeed in graduate school. Students may be admitted conditionally, but must complete the required courses in the first year of the program, unless a completion plan approved by a program director provides otherwise. CSIBridge allows applicants to acquire or refresh the academic education required to study computer-based digital forensics and qualify for admission to the D4CS Master of Science program or the CAD4SCI program.

The admission requirements for CSIBridge are the same as for the program of study, with the exception of the required computer science training. Accepted candidates with successful STEM experience will be placed by default on the CSIBridge Express Intensive and Accelerated Track, while those who do not have an undergraduate or CSIBridge Local level will be placed to begin their preparatory work. To be eligible for transfer to the degree program or CAD4SCI, CSIBridge students must achieve grades of B or better in all CSIBridge courses. To apply, select CSIBridge under Certificate Programs when applying online. The Advanced Certificate Program is linked to the Inspector General track of the Master of Public Administration program. Below is a summary of the curriculum. To be eligible for the Advanced Certificate Program, students must have completed 15 course credits in the MPA program with an average of 3.2 or higher and hold a Bachelor of Accounting degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university, including 24 Bachelor of Accounting credits and 18 elective Bachelor of General Affairs credits.
